The Race to DEMO 08

by Benjamin Yoskovitz

On January 26th we’ll be flying to Palm Springs and getting ready for DEMO 08. The event itself runs from January 28th-30th. We have to be there a couple days early because our on-stage practice session is on the 27th.

Jonah Paransky has a great post highlighting some of the companies attending DEMO, and I wanted to highlight those and a few others I’ve found.

There are many more companies presenting at DEMO 08, but I haven’t found news about them yet. If you know of any, feel free to let me know!

In the meantime, there are six days until we leave, and only a few things left to do. *grin*

Hi,

SceneCaster is also a Canadian company — we’re based just outside of Toronto and we are a 3D social media application and online community. We’ll be at DEMO 08. In fact, we were invited back following our successful launch at DEMOfall 07 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kkN5O4g-tY). We’re looking forward to unveil our latest technology, products and announcements. DEMOfall was a blast. I’m sure DEMO 08 will be even better. Hope to meet you guys there.

Hi Mark - Very cool. You’re a veteran of the DEMO scene, so I’m sure you’re well prepared.

And I’m sure we’ll get a chance to meet there … there’s a handful of Canadian companies going which is great.

Hi Ben–just wanted to say thanks for highlighting LiquidTalk on your blog. It’s our first DEMO too and we’re very excited! If you have a moment, stop over at Pavillion station 43 to say hi. We’ll be sure to catch your on-stage debut–ours is 1/29 at 2:08pm. Good luck at the event!

@Dave: We’re at station #76. We’ll definitely stop by for our visit. See you there.

I believe xtranormal.com is also presenting at Demo 08.

#8 Ben Yoskovitz

Cool - not much info about them … are they Canadian?

Xtranormal is Richard Szalwinski’s latest adventure. They are in Montreal (on St.Viateur street, very close to the original Discreet Logic building). They build multimedia software for content creators. They have some really interesting technology blending natural language interpretation and 3D real-time animation.
